The Wanda Houston Band, Juke Joint Jazz

WANDA HOUSTON of Chicago and New York, is a classically trained, international singer/actress who has performed the stages of Europe and Australia, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.  She has worked in Film, Television and Theatre bringing her brand of authenticity and soul to her audiences as she finesses the music of everyone from Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone to Sade and Stevie Wonder.  She has worked with numerous song writers, directors, composers, producers: Michael Jackson, John Tuturro, Bernard Salzmann, William Finn. Locally, she has performed with Eugene Uman and his Convergence Project and the Vermont Jazz Center Big Band in an Evening of ELLA FITZGERALD in Vermont and the Berkshire Jazz Festival.  She's also shared the stage with Samirah Evans at the Hanks and Reed Performing Arts Center and Claire Areneus at The Iron Horse.  With THE WANDA HOUSTON BAND she brings high quality musicianship and vocals to Jazz, R&B and Blues.  The band formed in 2009 finding their current brand after working throughout New England and discovering their joy of vocal harmonies and swinging Jazz beats.
